Upcoming Anime & Updates 2

Upcoming Animes, Movies & OVA

Gundam 00 OVA

*Will update once there's trailer*

Japan’s Bandai Visual will release the first of three Gundam OO Special Edition OVAs on October 27. The three 90 minute episodes will summarize the first season of the Mobile Suit Gundam OO television series, featuring a small amount of new, exclusive footage and partially re-recorded dialogue.

Development is still underway for a Gundam OO feature film to debut theatrically in Japan next year.

Thoughts: Would really like to see how the OVA's will turn out although I'm more anticipating the movie more...Neverthenless, this is a HUGE news for me!!!

Black Lagoon Third Series (OVA)

*Will update once there's trailer*

The August issue of Monthly Sunday GX magazine, which goes on sale in Japan on Saturday, will formally reveal that Madhouse’s third Black Lagoon anime will be an OVA series released next year. TV series director Sunao Katabuchi and character designer Masanori Shino will reteam for the new series.

Thoughts: This is probably the BEST news after the annoucement of DTB2 & Gundam 00 OVA's & Movie. The only downside would be they making it an OVA. Many fans would be hoping for a series or movie perhaps. Still, anything from BL is a winner!

CANAAN Movies

*Will update once there's trailer*

The official homepage for the current CANAAN anime television series has announced that the 13 episode series will be condensed into three theatrical motion pictures, the first of which will open in October.

Thoughts: Not watching CANAAN yet, but from what I heard, it's pretty good. I'm hoping the BEST from the movie since I'm gonna start the series soon.

Announced Animes, OVA, Movies

Garo: Red Requiem

*Will update once there's trailer*

Tohokushinsha Film Corporation subsidiary company Omnibus Japan has formally announced the development of Garo: Red Requiem, a digital 3D feature film installment of Tohokushinsha’s 2005 late night live-action hero show Garo. The original special-effects laden program was created and directed by Keita Amemiya (Zeiram), who will return to direct the feature film. Veteran stunt coordinator and Cutie Honey the Live series director Makoto Yokoyama will provide action choreography. The Garo movie is scheduled for release next year.

The popular Garo TV series had a successful 25 episode run, a side-story episode, and a two-episode TV special sequel.

Thoughts: Whoohoo! I bet this is gonna make many fans goes WOW including me. I really have nothing to said right now since I'm too happy. This is just sweet! Anyway, for those who haven't watch Garo yet, I suggest you give it a try since it's one of the most successful series ever unless you're not into those henshin stuff.

Hakuoki Shinsengumi Kitan

*Will update once there's trailer*

During this past Sunday’s Otomate Party 2009 publicity event in Tokyo, video game publisher Idea Factory revealed that an anime adaptation of its 2008 PlayStation 2 game Hakuoki Shinsengumi Kitan is now in development. The game is a “reverse harem” historical adventure game that involves a female protagonist interacting with the handsome young swordsmen of the Shinsengumi.

Thoughts: Didn't play the game. One girl (protagonist) & many guys? Not my type really since I'm a guy & hoping for girls haha! Definitely a show for the ladies...But if the storyline & action is good, I don't mind really, & from the way it look, it doesn't look too bad...that's why I decided to blog it.

Goulart Knights

*Will update once there's trailer*

Bandai Visual’s music label Lantis has launched a website to announce its development of the original anime series Goulart Knights. Lantis has produced anime adaptations of manga, including Haibane Renmei, Hatsukoi Limited, and Angel Sanctuary, but Goulart Knights will be the company’s first original anime. The website credits manga artist Takumi Miyajima (Neppu Kairiku Bushilord: The Rising) with developing the concept of a team of four bishonen with the ability to use “Chalice,” the source of humanity, to defend the earth from mysterious creatures known as “Archons.”

A one-shot Goulart Knights manga story appears in the current August issue of Animedia Magazine. A free original Goulart Kishidan: Homunculus Soudou (Goulart Knights: Homunculus Strife drama CD will be distributed at Comic Market 76 next month. A launch date for the anime hasn’t been determined yet.

Thoughts: Again, many boys, this time with all the main characters. Don't know if I will watch it. At the time being it had my interest.

Halo Legends (Animated)

The Los Angeles Times’ blog reports that Japanese anime production studios BONES, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G, Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation have been commissioned by Microsoft to produce an animated anthology film titled Halo Legends. Appleseed movie director Shinji Aramaki will serve as the film’s creative director and direct one of the film’s stories. Microsoft’s 343 Industries, the department in charge of the Halo shooting game franchise, is giving the anime studios free reign over the visual appearance of the animation, but, according to 343 Industries’ creative director Frank O’Connor, “Depending on the studio, we did everything from writing the stories to feeding them with characters and scenarios they could explore.”

A preview trailer will be screened at this weekend’s San Diego Comic Con. The shorts will then be released on the Xbox Live service this fall, followed by DVD & Blu-ray from Warner Bros. early next year.

Thoughts: Perhaps the most surprising news for anime so far. As much as I hope for a movie release, I never thought they're going to animated it. Probably some mixed reaction from the fans, I think most of us will rather it comes out with a movie like FFAC: Complete like graphic. Me too, since Halo is too good not to adopt to a movie with kick@ss graphic but it's rather to interesting to see how this animated version of HALO will turns out to be?

Looks like end of 2009 & 2010 bring us lotsa good shows...xD!!!
