Malaysia (Finally...) Boleh!!!

An article by Wisefreeman.
Cyber Fusion 2009!

Gamers in Malaysia, successfully broke the Guinness World Records & set a new world record for the world longest & largest LAN party with the total number of 274 surviving gamers
over the long chilling 40hours at Multimedia University Grand Hall in Cyber Jaya, Malaysia.

Initially it was set at 38hours only, but due to the mass demand from the participants, the record was set
higher at 40hours. We started off with 300 people & later some people drop off because breaking
simple rules. Guinness World Records' Rules & Regulations are very strict, no participant are allow to sleep during the challenge or continuously do anything that are not related to gaming (web surfing, IM etc...). Those who get caught will be given a warning & will be disqualify if get caught again. The marshals in the hall prevent us from falling asleep by slapping our head with big harisen......

Just jesting, LOL! They just shake us up to wake us.

For participants who survived the whole 40hours period will each get AMD Phenom or Athlon Processor, certificate of participation & a backpack.
Participants was also given the chance to win ATI graphic cards & some original games via lucky draws around the clock:

The low temperature in the grand hall make us very hard to resist not to fall into hibernation ^^; I'm wearing 3 shirts (2 was given in the goodies bag) & a jacket + hand glove but it's still very very cold......
Apart from the freezing temperature in the hall, after 4hours of gaming my Vista Ultimate 64bit OS started to "freeze" too, the system error message Event ID:10 which is a known system fault in all Vista version that will cause PC to freeze. It totally hang up my laptop & I have to hard restart it everytime it freeze while running game, yesterday was perfectly fine.

Due to this unfortunate issue, I can't play any graphic intensive games on my laptop....... The rule stated that participants are allowed to play any sort of games (physical card game excluded), so I resort to playing only this internet flash game called Gundam Fighter for the remaining 30hours...... orz
But luckily my comrades over at The Figure Mall (have a look at their table & rig full of figure) have bunch of Japanese games like Crucis Fatal Fake, Magical Battle Arena & Touhou to keep me entertain throughout the remaining long & freezing hours. Other than playing games, it just seem too normal, so I watch anime & play game both at the same time, some retro gamers even play 8bit Mario & 8bit DOOM......

During the record breaking challenge, I'd only consumed 1 liter of H2O, 6 cans of Red Bull & 4 regular size pizza. Throughout the 40hours gaming marathon, each participants are given 5minutes of break per hour, but I had only used up 6 minutes of my 190 minutes (3:16hours) for toilet break & buying meals, 12minutes for solar charging.
I did dozed off a few times unconsciously. For participants that managed to get a moment of silent, they are using this ninja technic, acting like you're playing game with your hand on the keyboard, as for those who obviously sleep like this, will get a harisen slap on their head ^^;

Overall, the experience of gaming in the hall feels like you're inside a big cyber cafe with disco + some sexy ladies giving out Red Bull, the music was played out loud & the laser lighting was showering through out the hall.

When I first heard about this event, I knew I had to secure this
opportunity & be part of it, so I'd committed & taken 5days off my
business to participant in this epic world record breaking event &
I have to make sure I remain in the challenge & not drop out halfway through.
No Words can simply describe my experiences in this epic event.

Last but not least, Thank You Very Much to DC Comrades who sent me all the
supportive messages ^_^ & Kagami which accompanied me throughout the event,
without you all I wouldn't had make it, cheers!

Alright, I'd been awake for the past 60hours+, it's time for me to hibernate
& recharge my biocell~~~
