Hobby or Addiction?

I don't know how many of you is Otaku or Toys Collector here but I'm one of them. So when I came across with this article, I decided to blog it. Very interesting indeed.

Original Article:
A question that came up on the TFwire forums recently & is very applicable to any hobby. Do you consider your figure collecting (or anything else for that matter) a hobby or addiction? There is a very fine line between the two.

- Do you find yourself buying unnecessarily just to get a 'figure mix' when you haven't bought anything for awhile?

- How often do you spend money on figures?

- When you see a Limited Edition figure, do you get a tight feeling in your chest and a voice in your head say 'BUY IT!'

All these questions and some others come to mind. For that matter, how much have you spent on our figure collecting?

Question 1
It's kind of mix of both. I don't go & buy unnecessary toys even if I don't spend for quite a while. I only buy what I like, but if really I get very bored or in the mood of buying, I'll usually get myself a Gunpla to assemble. Of course the one that I like. Can kill time & it's pretty cheap anyway.

Question 2
Can't really tell since I only buy what I like. I can spend up to RM1000 a month & can go another few months spending less than RM200. It really depends on what coming out in the next few months & also my budget.

Question 3
This one is easy, my answer is NO. Again, I buy what me like. I don't usually go & hunt Limited Edition stuff's, but if my figure gets a run of LE, I'll compare what's the major difference between the two, if the difference is little, then no way I'm getting the LE.

Question 4
I did not count but it's certainly not less.

But what's bugging me was the Otaku Rule Number One. I did missed out on some figures last year & the 'A' always seen by me whenever I online & 'B' always prevented me from getting it & hence, 'C' is finally here. I could still call the hobby of mine a hobby (for now) but I'm afraid it'll slowly converting into addiction an issue afraid by most of brothers & sisters out there.

Have your own view on this matter (various hobby)? Have your say here!

Death to all Lovers Club

Recently found this while surfing the net...

Original article:
As couples get lovey-dovey on Valentine’s Day today
(or tomorrow depending on where you are),
a different group of people will be on the streets destroying the romantic
atmosphere of lovers on this very day.

Known as 情侶去死去死团 literally translated as
“Death to all lovers” club, it started out in Taiwan in 2005 by the local netizens
as a platform for single and lonely otaku/nerds without girlfriends to oppose
the overly commercialised celebration methods and supposedly
happy/affectionate mood on Valentine Day and Christmas Eve.

The full article can be found HERE

Questions:
Would you go that far (assuming you're still single by then)
if there's such a club in your region?
I would certainly join for fun if only I have nothing better to do.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!

How are you going to spent this year Valentine? With Loved Ones? Having single's party with friends? Or Self?

I'm trying (not very hard thou) to invite some of my (singles) friends for a dinner or perhaps a drink later on since I used to go out almost every weekend so this year valentine makes no difference since I already been single for a long time LOL. Just in case my friends are busy, I'm gonna spent it with plastics (PVC, Gunpla & other toys)...sounds so desperate huh? I'm so ronery LOL...

Again, I wish everyone in the world have a very happy valentines!!!

Death of Democracy in Perak

Yeah, I know I'm a bit late but better than nothing.

I bet not only Perak-ians, but the whole Malaysia knew about what happend in Perak recently.

So, please wear black on 10/02/2009 in order to show that democracy is dead in Perak & it's the only thing that we as the ppl (or supporter) of Perak can do for PR (Pakatan Rakyat).

I'm not a supporter for either side really but I only support what's right & against what's wrong. Still can't decide? Take a look HERE & then...

A by-election or bye-election (called special election in the United States) is an held to fill a political office that has become vacant between regularly-scheduled elections. Usually this occurs when the incumbent has died or election resigned, but it may also occur when the incumbent becomes ineligible to continue in office, for example because of a recall or a sufficiently serious criminal conviction. Historically, members of some parliaments were required to seek re-election upon being appointed to a ministerial post. The subsequent by-elections were termed ministerial by-elections.

Taken from Wikipedia.

PR have no problem with a by-election, as well as the ppl of Perak but why not BN & Sultan? We, the ppl of Perak choose our own state government last year, so let us decide again! Fair enough rite? Hello, what means by General Election? We, ppl of Malaysia (Perak) decide the result, not Sultan alone k?

Should you wear black now?
