As couples get lovey-dovey on Valentine’s Day today
(or tomorrow depending on where you are),
a different group of people will be on the streets destroying the romantic
atmosphere of lovers on this very day.
Known as 情侶去死去死团 literally translated as
“Death to all lovers” club, it started out in Taiwan in 2005 by the local netizens
as a platform for single and lonely otaku/nerds without girlfriends to oppose
the overly commercialised celebration methods and supposedly
happy/affectionate mood on Valentine Day and Christmas Eve.
